1971 brought us two pretty excellent Alice Cooper records: Love It To Death and today's post, Killer. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite of the two. There's still plenty of to-the-point proto-punk-ish garage rock to be found here, but there's also the eight minute plus "Halo of Flies" - a definite highlight of the album - where the band steps into prog-rock territory in astonishing fashion. Nearly every song is a classic in one way or another, so do yourself a favor and scoop it up pronto.
