Pigbag - Dr. Heckle And Mr. Jive (1982)

Pigbag were an instrumental British post-punk band. They incorporated elements of funk, jazz, and ska. This is their first LP, and it's not an album for everyone. To be completely honest it's not one that I listen to in its entirety very often (although today is an exception, which is what prompted this post). It generally works better when I've got my mp3 player on random and one of their tracks pops up. That's not any sort of complaint, however. I feel the same way about most instrumental albums. In any case, these guys had a style all their own, and for the adventurous among us, Dr. Heckle And Mr. Jive makes for an interesting and unique record.
