Two early punk compilations from underrated label, Raw Records. These are some of my favorite recordings, in several cases what's presented here are the best tracks the featured bands ever put out. Includes tracks from The Killjoys (Kevin Rowland and Kevin Archer's pre-Dexys Midnight Runners project) and early material by Robyn Hitchcock's Soft Boys.
I'm not really familiar with the entire history of Raw Records, but just judging by these comps I'd say they're a criminally overlooked piece of punk history. These are the Damaged Goods CD extended reissue verions, which throw in eight bonus tracks that didn't appear on the original vinyl releases.
