Iggy Pop - Soldier (1980)

As with New Values, Soldier is yet another overlooked and under-appreciated Iggy record. This time around the album was recorded largely without David Bowie or James Williamson, although the former does provide backing vocals on one track and the latter was set to participate as producer before walking out on the process early on. Instead, the key collaborator here is ex-Sex Pistol Glen Matlock. Soldier flopped upon its release, but as is usually the case, record sales are not equal to the quality of the music itself.
