MD.45 - The Craving (1996)

Lee Ving and Dave Mustaine. A more unlikely collaboration I cannot recall. It's an odd album, and I can't help but wonder who the intended audience was. Myself, and just a few others, I guess. Neither artist strays from their comfort zone, so if you go in expecting a Megadeth record with the guy from Fear singing, you've just about hit the nail on the head. Surprisingly enough though, over time I've come to love The Craving. Ving, despite his legendary status, has such a limited body of work that frankly I'll take what I can get; but that doesn't mean there's not something special and unique going on here. If you're going to purchase this one (and as with everything I post here, I recommend that you do), be careful. A later reissue edition removes Ving's vocals and overdubs Mustaine's, which is really some kind of sacrilege and renders the entire experiment meaningless.
