It's hard to believe this EP came out in 1978. Negative Trend released this powerful slab of punk, bordering on hardcore, at a time when other bands representative of the style were still in their infancy. Harder hitting than most of their Californian peers, this was their only record (although there was a posthumous 1998 collection of demos credited to Rozz & Negative Trend that I haven't had the pleasure of hearing). Only four tracks, but all of them brilliant.

Will Shatter and I were best friends. We were putting together more songs for A3I (Any Three Initials) for a follow up to the first album when he died. Funny, all of our mutual friends had dream visitations from him within a couple of days of his death. Still miss him.
ReplyDeleteWell damn. I'm honored to have someone reading my blog who was actually around to experience and be actively involved with the music I admire so much. For most of the albums I post on here I was either entirely too young to appreciate them at the time they were released, or worse yet not even born. Will Shatter made some great music. I haven't heard the A3I album. Is what I've been reading correct in that it was never given a proper release?
