Pentagram, despite their ever changing lineup, released a couple fairly excellent records in the eighties, a couple less-than excellent (although still enjoyable in their own right) records in the nineties, and later a few more that I don't have any personal experience with. But Bobby Liebling and his revolving cast of characters were cranking out what I'd call their most essential material in the seventies, well before they ever got around to recording a fully sanctioned full-length LP. These two collections, First Daze Here and First Daze Here Too, gather together a good chunk of it. Frankly, if I'm going to listen to Pentagram, this is the stuff I want to hear. Call it doom, call it stoner rock, call it Sabbath worship. Call it whatever you want, it rocks and it rocks hard.
