Here we have the only officially released recordings by the original Melvins lineup (Buzz Osborne, Matt Lukin and Mike Dillard). If you're not familiar with this material, you should know going in that it may not be the Melvins you know and love. Personally, while the "classic" lineup and the current lineup are in pretty regular rotation in my household, I can't help but wonder what might have been had they continued in this direction. As a more traditional hardcore punk band, they certainly held their own.
