Alice Cooper, as a solo artist, may have had a great influence on metal, but I'd say the early records with his original band play an important role in proto-punk as well. This one, in particular, packs quite a punch; perhaps at the time only rivaled by Iggy and the Stooges. 1971 to 1973 were especially fruitful for Cooper and his gang, producing some of my favorite albums (in addition to this one, there's Killer, School's Out, and Billion Dollar Babies - all fantastic).
