The Stooges - Heavy Liquid (1972-1974)

I'm not going to waste a bunch of space commenting on how awesome this set is. It's a whole lot of The Stooges in one place, so just go ahead and grab it. A good chunk of what's presented here had been previously available elsewhere, but the good folks at Easy Action really outdid themselves in cleaning up the shoddy sounding bootleg material to make it listenable. The remasters are great, and this set is a true collector's dream. Enjoy!

  2. Wow, I knew about the Funhouse box set, but not this one. I was eying up the More Power double Cd, but this box set has all those songs & more. Everything I want, really, except maybe for his cover of Dylan's "Ballad of Hollis Brown." How's the sound quality? I've heard most of this stuff is so-so at best.

  3. Ah, ok, you say it's cleaned up & listenable. $34.99 on Amazon. Think I'm gonna go for it!

    1. I think the quality is more than acceptable, especially considering some of the source material. In particular the stuff issued earlier as "Open Up And Bleed" sounds way better on here. But you are trying before you buy, right? That might be a silly question but you would be surprised at the times I've talked to people about this blog who didn't realize the mediafire links were download links.
