Scream - No More Censorship (1988)

A recent comment on my last Scream post got me thinking. It seems to be popular opinion that these guys evolved into more of a hard rock band than a hardcore one. I take issue with that assessment. I'll give you Fumble, but No More Censorship (and it's precursor, Banging The Drum) - albeit less intense than Still Screaming and This Side Up - are still very much hardcore records. Scream, for better or worse, have always had their own thing going on. Rock and metal influences, for sure, but they knew how to throw down when the occasion called for it - and still do, for that matter. I had the pleasure of seeing them last year. These days I listen to this album more than I do their Dischord stuff.
